NOC to obtain passport

Indian Railway employees cum all Govt employees who have completed their police verification by their employer after enrollment, they do not need any police verification by the passport office again to obtain passport. Govt does not need twice police verification for a person in country. So, as per Ministry of External Affair (Passport) requirement, they only need (annexure ‘B’) identity certificate from the employer to issue normal passport. Who has not completed police verification after enrollment they need police verification by the passport authority before issue passport. In this case the department will issue No Objection Certificate (annexure ‘M’) only. But traditionally the Indian Railway is issuing only No Objection Certificate (Annex ‘M’) to employee for passport. By this way again passport authority compels to initiate Police verification before issue a passport. So, NOC issuing authority should update their mandate with the MEA’s rules at the earliest. All employees are also requesting to insist the authority to issue only the Identity Certificate (Annex ‘B’). so you skip the police verification. Only lack of updation of passport rules in Indian railway drag us into a manmade dilemma. For more details see the website of passportindia.gov.in----
