sir i have been selected as section engineer pway in Central railway nagpur division.

i got the appointment letter and in that they have written that after completion of training period i have to serve for a period of 5yrs.

so i wanted to ask is it compulsory. and if i dont serve that period then what actions will be taken or what measures should be taken if i do training for 1 year and i dont want to continue the work.

also i would like to ask that i am also M. Tech environment engg how will it help in me indian railway as in salary and promotion or in case of work.

and what is the criteria for deputation?

i would like to take your opinion that will i enjoy this job cause i am real workoholic and also have interest in the filed of environmental engg.

thank you

Normally you have execute a bond with Railways stating that you will serve Railways for a period of 5 years after training. If you leave Railways in this period you have to pay the training cost calculated as the stipend you recived plus 12.5% .

But if you leave Railways for a job with PSUs normally this rule is relaxed and in this case you will be asked to serve the remaining period with the PSU concerned.

Your M. Tech wont give you any privilage by way of Promotion or salary.

sir m section engg pway in nagpur division.

i would like to ask that practically when should i expect promotion to AEN post in railway if i sicerely serve the job?

cause i am thinking if i join phd i could get atleast a grade pay of 6600 after completion of phd in 4 yrs max.

please tell me the procedure and practically how much time it will take

1. Promotions are Divisionwise/Zonewise and as such various Div/Zone opportunities vary.
2. Vacancies are unpredictable. Being a huge organisation there are always people join / leaving Railways all the time.
3. Promotion to Gazetted posts are by Departmental exams. So the preparation and service records of the employee is important.
4. Smartness and readiness to work hard of the employee.
