One of the Production Unit raised an issue whether the railway staff after allotment of GP Rs. 2,800 in pay band Rs. 5,200-20,200 through MACP is eligible in the pre-revised entitlements for Ist Class Pass on reaching pay of Rs. 5,375 as per 5th CPC conditions which were in vogue prior to issue of revised pass entitlements on 6-1-11.
On the careful examination, it was observed that MACP Scheme presently being implemented is based on the recommendation of 6th Pay Commission and hence its benefit cannot be extended on pay-scales under 5th Pay Commission.
