Fixation of Pay examples as per 6th CPC

Here are some guidelines for fixation of pay as per 6th CPC 

Ex 1 : Fixation of initial pay in the revised pay structure

1. Existing Scale of Pay Rs.4000-100-6000

2. Pay Band applicable PB-1 Rs.5200-20200

3. Existing basic pay as on 1.1.2006 Rs.4800

4. Pay after multiplication by a factor of 1.86 Rs. 8928 (Rounded off to Rs.8930)

5. Pay in the Pay Band PB-2 Rs.8930

6. Stage in the Pay Band after including benefit of bunching, if admissible
Rs.8930
7. Grade Pay attached to the scale
Rs.2400
8. Revised basic pay – total of pay in the pay band and grade pay Rs.11330

Ex 2 : Fixation of initial pay in the revised pay structure of medical officers

1. Existing Scale of Pay
Rs.10000-15200
2. Pay Band applicable
PB-3 Rs.15600-39100
3. Existing basic pay as on 1.1.2006
Rs.10000
4. Pay after multiplication by a factor of 1.86
Rs.18600
5. Existing Non Practising Allowance (NPA)
Rs.2500+Rs.1250
6. DA on NPA
Rs.900
7. Pay in the Pay Band PB-3
Rs.18600+Rs.900=Rs.19500

Stage 1 : Initial fixation of Group D employee in -1S

3. Existing basic pay as on 1.1.2006 Rs.2840

4. Pay after multiplication by a factor of 1.86 Rs.5282 (Rounded off to Rs.5290)

5. Pay in the Pay Band Rs.5290

6. Stage in the Pay Band after including benefit of bunching, if admissible
Rs.5290
7. Grade Pay attached to the scale
Rs.1300
8. Revised basic pay – total of pay in the pay band and grade pay Rs.6590

Stage 2 : Fixation of Group D employee possessing requisite qualification or after retraining

1. Existing Scale of Pay Rs.2500-55-2660-60-3200

2. Pay Band applicable PB-1 Rs.5200-20200

3. Existing basic pay as on 1.1.2006 Rs.2840

4. Pay after multiplication by a factor of 1.86 Rs.5282 (Rounded off to Rs.5290)

5. Pay in the Pay Band PB-1 Rs.5290

6. Stage in the Pay Band after including benefit of bunching, if admissible
Rs.5530
7. Grade Pay attached to the scale
Rs.1800
8. Revised basic pay – total of pay in the pay band and grade pay Rs.7330
 

Ex 4 : Pay fixation in cases where posts have been upgraded

1. Existing Scale of Pay Rs.6500-200-10500
(Corresponding Grade Pay Rs.4200)

2. Pay Band applicable PB-2 Rs.9300-34800

3. Upgraded to the Scale of Pay Rs.7500-250-12000
(Corresponding Grade Pay Rs.4800)

4. Existing basic pay as on 1.1.2006 Rs.7300

5. Pay after multiplication by a factor of 1.86 Rs. 13578 (Rounded off to Rs.13580)

6. Pay in the Pay Band PB-2 Rs.13580

7. Stage in the Pay Band after including benefit of bunching, if admissible
Rs.13580
8. Grade Pay attached to the scale of
Rs.7500-250-12000
Rs.4800
9. Revised basic pay – total of pay in the pay band and grade pay Rs.18380

Ex 5 : Pay fixation on grant of increment in the revised pay structure

1. Pay in the PB-2 Rs.9300

2. Grade Pay Rs.4200

3. Total of pay + grade pay Rs.13500

4. Rate of increment 3% of row 3

5. Amount of increment Rs.405 rounded off to Rs.410

6. Pay in the pay band after increment Rs.9300 + 410

7. Pay after increment
Rs.9710
8. Grade pay applicable

                 I was appointed in Indian Railway as JE on 18 Jan 2005. After completing training i.e. 1year 6 months, in july 2006, I was posted as JE. My basic was 5000 on 01.01.2006 before increament , and 5150(proforma) from 1.1.06 to 18.07.2006, 5150 on 19.07.06 actual. After  6th pay commission, on 01.01.2006 my proforma basic was fixed as

(5000+150)*1.86=9580.

9580+4200=13,780 0n 1.1.2006 proforma basic

13780*1.03=14,200 0n 1.7.2006 proforma basic

14,200 on 18.07.2006 actual basicl

14,200*1.03=14,630 on 1.7.2007 actual basic

Is it right?

According to me, it should be

(5000*1.86)+4200=13,500

13,500*1.03=13,910 on 1.1.2006 proforma basic

13,910*1.03=14,330 on 1.7.2006 proforma basic

14,330 on 18.7.2006 actual basic

14,330*1.03=14,760 on 1.7.2007 actual basic

pl tell me given fixation is right or my calculation is right.

My wife is working as a staff

My wife is working as a staff nurse in southern railway, date of appointment is 01.04.2005.

She came on mutual transfer from East Coast Railway to Southern Railway in Nov'2011.

Rate of pay-16290/- at the time of transfer.

Now her pay band is 13210/-, Grade pay-4600/- her pay fixation is not done till now.

What will the basic pay, she has to receive as per pay fixation 01.01.2006.

On mutual transfer pay and GP will be same as she was getting in ECR.

I took study leave for two years from 11-08-2008 to 11-08-2010. Please calculate my basic pay according to new pay commission

Pay on 1.12006 = 1.86 x Old

Pay on 1.12006 = 1.86 x Old basic

After that every July 1 incremetn @ 3%

Your promotion will not have any effect as it is in same GP as per new Pay commission.

Sir, I was working as Sr. Asstt.Loco Pilot and my pay was 4400/- in the scale 4000-6000 on Dtd. 01-01-2006 and my incriment date was 19th Dec. and on Dec. 2006 one incriment of Rs. 100/- add and my basic pay was 4500/- On dtd. 24-01-2007 I was promoted as Loco Pilot(goods) in the scale 5000-8000 with pay fixed Rs. 5000/-.

On 1.1.06 your pay will be

On 1.1.06 your pay will be 4400 * 1.86 = 8184 (rounded to 8190 ) 

GP = 1900 

Basic = 8190 + 1900 = 10090

On 1.7.06 one increment ( @ 3%  of 10090) =  10400

On the date of promotion you will get new GP and one more increment @ 3 %

Sir i was appointed as a assistant loco pilot on 1st may 2006. So how will my pay fixation will be calculated as per 6th cpc. What is the minimum basic required for getting convayance allowance of rs.1380/-. Please reply as earlier.

I posted in Railways as Tech-III on 04-03-2003. Got promoted to Tech-II on 12-04-2007 and my pay fixed form the date of promotion and now later promoted as Tech-I on 29-04-2011. Now, am I eligible for the extra increment for those whose initial increment date in between Feb and June in 2006.

I was retired from Railway Service from 30/11/2010, my date of increment was march, my last pay was calculated  i,e. on 30/11/2010  Rs. 15030+4200=19230. As per Rly Bd. L. No. 10/2/2011-E.III/ A dated 19/03/2012 , that those government employee who are due to get their annual increment between February to June during 2006 may be granted oe increment on 01/01/2006 in the pre revised pay scale as a one time measure and there after will get the next increment in the revised pay structure on 01/07/2006. kindly let me know whether i am applicable for increment on 01/01/2006, if applicable is my PPO will be revised and retirement benefit  will be calculated as per revised pay.

I am working as Helper Gr.I (S & T) in ADRA Division in S.E.Railway. On 01.01.2006 I was Helper Gr.II in the Pay Scale of 2550 -55-2660-60-3200 and my basic was 3020/-. In the Month of March 2006 i got a promotion of Helper Gr.I in the Pay Scale of 2650 -65-3300-70-4000 and my basic was fixed at 3170/-. But in the VI PC Both the posts are merged and my Basic fixed Rs. 8410/- on the ground of basic of Rs. 3020/- as on 01.01.2006. Now please let me know that may I get the benefit of the promotion in the month of march,06 or not.

Your pay got fixed in March 2006 and as such you didnt miss any increments. Hence you wont get this increment.

My name is missing in the promotion list during Feb '06.  On appeal i was promoted during July '08. Irrespective of appeals there is no response from office.

1. Is there any chance that any officer can stop promotion without any information to me ? 2.There are no punishments to me or any charge sheets served to me. Can such                 information be kept confidential? I will retiring during Jan '13,

If there is a punishment for

If there is a punishment for you you have to be informed under acknowledgement and given the right to appeal. It should be some clerical omission, represent the matter to DPO.

Minimum pay of S1 is 4440  + GP 1300 = 5740.

You will get DA(65% ) and HRA  (minimum 10%) and other applicable allowances.

Section engineer is a Group C

Section engineer is a Group C post.And no career growth in railway as SE.No further promotion for section engg in entire life.so why you are talking for SE post.

Even je got promotion upto suptd Engineer or Exn engineer in other deptt but no further promotion for SE in railway.I have resign from SE(electrical) jobs which i join in 2008 and finally got job in a psu.
