Standards Description for different Medical classification
- A-1 Physically fit in all respects. Visual Standards —Distance Vision: 6/6,6/6 without glasses. Near Vision: Sn: 0.6,0.6 without glasses (must clear fogging test) and must pass test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision & Night Vision.
- A-2 Physically fit in all respects. Visual Standards—Distance vision: 6/9,6/9 without glasses. Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 without glasses and must pass test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision & Night Vision.
- A-3 Physically fit in all respects. Visual Standards—Distance Vision: 6/9,6/9 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 2D). Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses and must pass test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision & Night Vision.

- C-2 Physically fit in all respects. Visual Standards — Distance Vision: 6/12, Nil with or without glasses. Near Vision, Sn: 0.6 combined with or without glasses when reading or close work is required.

Medical category of above post is A3 witch say that vision of eye should be 6/9 , 6/9 with or without glasses and power of glass not to exceed to 2D. but i have power glass of -2.75 and -3.0 on both eye.
please suggest that is i eligible for that category?
or if i will go for LESIK surgery then is it acceptable in railway for above post and medical category.

It is not at all a problem.
It is not at all a problem. I myself have -4.75 and -5 eye sight number and I have joined as JAA through RRB Mumbai a month ago. For JAA you need C1 medical category and your eye sight is fit for that. Dont worry you will pass the medical provided you dont have any other medical problem in your body.
