A2 & below means he is fit in all category below A2 including A2. Such categories are A3, B1, B2, C1, C2. These are medical category as per eyesight. A1 is higher than A2.

If you want to give appeal against the decision you have to prove some condition which was not correctly verified during medical. You can give a doctor s certificate for example as a proof.

You can appeal. But you have to produce a medical certificate with details to prove your medical fitness.

You have to apply to Chief Medical Officer with reasons of appeal supported by Another Doctor certificate.

ALP have tough MEdical standards. You can apply for remedical. But it will be permitted only if you produce another medical certificate to prove an error in the first medical.

Only DMO will decide. For Station MAsters, ALP no contact lens, glasses permitted. ALP normally no abnormality including laser will be permitted.

Glasses are not permitted only for A1 & A2. For A3 you can wear glass.

But for A3 category Power should not exceed -2D , and my power is -4.5D......so my question is shall i go for laser surgery before going for medical test rather than getting rejection on the ground of higher power.

Nothing is mentioned in Medical Manual regarding laser surgery. So Doctor only will decide. Refer Medical Manual Vol I here: http://www.indianrailways.gov.in/railwayboard/uploads/codesmanual/MMVol-...

A2 means physically fit in all respects. Visual Standards - Distance vision: 6/9,6/9 without glasses. Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 without glasses and must pass test for Color Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision & Night Vision.  If you pass A2 test then you automatically clear A3, B1, B2, C1, and C2 test.
