General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) is conducted to fill up 25% of net direct recruitment vacancies for which indents are otherwise required to be placed before RRB. Regular railway employees irrespective of department possessing qualification for direct recruitment in RRB shall be eligible to appear GDCE. Only employees lower than in grade for which LDCE is held can apply. Maximum age limit of 40 for general candidates and 45 for SC/ST.

sir,
i am going to sit for je exam after few months
but i heard (unofficially) some officers take unjustified money to offer the post
how can i be suitable for the post according to merit without paying money.
pls suggest

Better to appear GDCE. You will have more chances to get job .

You might have seen the pile of files in CPO office. The results must be sleeping in one of them. You just have to wait.

I am a booking clerk serving at Burdwan station of Howrah division in the pay band of 5200-20200 GP 2000. My date of appointment was 14.10.2008 and date of assuming independent charge was 4.09.2009. But sir i want to go to accounts section ... could u plz guide me ,that how it would be possible for me to change the dept or i should apply for GDCE ....Is there any way out ...

To go to accounts branch only possibility is by writing RRB. Change of cadre is not permitted.

Zonal training center mem agala batch ka training shuru hone keep samay apka training start karega. ZTC keep sath training program hoga, uske anusar hi wo bula dega.

Dear Sir,
I appeared in examination of Com Insp. few months back. Now I am declared passed in the written examination. But the problem is that :-
1. There is only 2 seat but 5 persons have been declared pass in general category. there were 2 seats in SC category buy no one was declared passed in this category.
2. I am 4th in the seniority list.
3. Two of the seniors who have declared passed have already got the promotion in there parent carder & now they are enjoying the same pay scale as of C.I from last 3 months.
4. They have not given any options at the time of accepting the promotion in there parent carder.
5. Present situation is very confusing for the dept. the personal dept is not having the guidelines which they can follow.
6. Both of the seniors are showing there willingness to join the post of CI.
My opinion is that " As the person who has accepted the promotion have automatically become ineligible for the CI as they have unconditionally accepted the promotion before the finalization of selection process."
Practically is am working on the seat of CI from last one year.
Kindly Guide me in this matter ... with relevant notifications.

If they are willing for the post deparment has to give them the post as the delay of results are not their fault.

result is not delayed on there past but by accepting the post he should become ineligible. as he has got all the monetary benefits which are equivalent to CI (as they have become CBC)

GDCE exam annoucement will be send to the all the units coming under the Railways you work. The exam is not conducted frequently.

Resp. sir i am engineering grduate candidate working in group D in SECR zone and my joining month is june 2013. So my question is that can i apply for GDCE now. You can apply for GDCE when it is called. There is no fixed interval in which GDCE is conducted. Depending on vacancies one, two or more years.

I Pradeep Kumar completed my b.tech mechanical in 2011 and worked as a mechanical engineer in steel industry from last two year.Now I left m job due to some health issues but I am selected as a Assistant Loco Pilot medical had been done m just waiting for training call. Also sir i have passed clerk exam in bank.
Sir I am very much confuse which job would be best for me. As I know being an engineer both are not suite my qualification but I am finacially weak. and I want a secure future and Growth.
Please give me your valuable suggestion........

If GDCE exam is called for any graduate level posts you can apply. there is no minimum service requirement for GDCE. See here:

Indemnity Bond has to be submitted at the time of appointment in the Division where you will be posted. They will give you a format of Bond at the time.

Is GDCE exam and NORMAL rrb exam will be held on same day? if both the exams are on same day for which exam we have to attend.

It may or may not be the same day. RRB decide. As for you if it is on same day you can choose which exam to attend.

Sir, GDCE will be conducted by the nominated RRB along with direct recruitment examination conducted for the same category, with a separate marklist for GDCE category
in this case what is the benefit for a railway employee. Ex: as per rules if vacancy are 100 posts in RRB notification, GDCE posts are 25. Can we are consider for both category or only GDCE?
