- Vacancies in Indian Railways are filled either by recruitment by Recruitment agencies like UPSC or RRB or by promotion from serving candidates.
- Group A recruitments are filled by UPSC by All India Competitive examinations.
- Group B posts are normally filled by promotion from serving Group C candidates.
- Group C recruitments are made by Railway Recruitment Boards.
- Group D posts ( Those posts with GP 1800) are filled by Railway Recruitment Cells.

If u go through the application form u will see that 6 spaces for category options in column 1 b for filling category options.So you can fill for more than one category except cat. 12&13(para 1.06 and 16 If you have notice document).
Applying in more than 1 rrb is not possible because date of exam is same and u will be alloted more than 1 role number.(para 1.21)

In the above advertisement, for CAT. No.:53, Junior Engineer (IT) RRB asking the qualifications PGDCA/ B.Sc (Computer Science)/ BCA/ DOEACC “A” level course of three years duration or equivalent from recognized University/ Institution.
But Sir, Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and Diploma in Information Technology ( both 3 yrs course) are also suitable for the above mentioned post. Because the post is related to Information and communication technology.
Hence, pls. clarify and provide me the contact no. and mail ID of RRB to whom I have to contact if the above qualifications also eligible for the post of J.E. (IT).

The rules for qualification
The rules for qualification for RRB exam is just as they publish. Where a degree is prescribed a diploma wont be enough even if the contents of both are same. The eligibility criteria are determined not by RRB, but by Railway Board. You can send mail to RB if you want, but dont expect that they will publish a newspaper advertisement tomorrow announcing new criteria since you requested it. Even if they want to do it and do it fast there are elaborate procedures.

Signal maintainer maintains the signaling installations at a station. It includes periodical maintenance and attending failures. Working hours depends on stations. Major stations have round the clock ESM working in shifts, while smaller stations will have day time working and attending failures in after hours.

I am working in ER as Signal Maintainer (gr-III) and now have been selected for Telecom Maintainer (Gr III) in same zone. Actually when the advertisement for Telecom was published, at that time I was not working anywhere and hence no NOC were required. Now I want to know that how can I join the Telecom Maintainer.
Also I want to know that if I give the resignation then within how many days I will be released.

You can ask for No objection
You can ask for No objection certificate or you can request for releasing you so that you can join to the new post. It is normally granted as Establishment rules permit it. My self has been relesed from SER to ER in similar case.

i m working as sr. asstt . loco pilot,in garde 5200-20200(grade pay 2400)at northern railways..in march 2010 i had apply for the post J.E.(2nd) pay bend9300-34500(g.pay4200) at R.R.B.,chandigarh.before apply for the above post i had send request to my divisonal personal officer through proper chennel for no objection certificate.
when i dont get any reply from D.P.O.'S end.i had submitted my application for the above post after mantion on it-N.O.C. UNDER PROCIDURE.and submitted my form with photocopy of my application to D.P.O.,after that i got admit card from R.R.B.,and i got appear in selection exam.
at the time of result declaretion i got information from R.R.B.-THAT MY CANDIDATURE HAS BEEN REJECTED DUE TO I HAD NOT SUBMITTED MY N.O.C. FROM DEPTT. WITH APPLICATION FORM.through my resources i got qualified in selection exam of R.R.B,now i got N.OC. from my deptt too.
sir please suggest me that what i can do in that circumstences.was that my mistake in not to submit N.O.C. with application form.............thanks

. They should have given NOC in time. Now i think only option for you is to write to RRB explaining the circumstances and with a copy of NOC got. Let us hope RRB will consider.
