1. It depends where you are

1. It depends where you are posted. If you are posted as a section in charge, there will be an office. But if you are posted in a large office like an exchange of a Division, there will be many JEs working under SSe where you will be working in shift like a normal worker.

3) Posting depends on vacancies existing. Your choice will be considered only if there are vacancies existing in that particular place.

4) Where training in training school is involved you will be given bachelor accommodation. You will have to find your own accomodation for on job training.

Railway quarters is given stationwise. So some stations have surplus quarters which means you can get it straightaway and some stations have shortage of quarters with many people waiting in list. There you may have to wait many years.

For salary see here: http://indianrailwayemployee.com/content/gross-and-net-salary-some-popular-categories-railway-jobs

Present DA is 72%.

I dont know what is an AM in DMRC. But JE in Railways is not a powerful post. (I dont think JE in any department is a poweful post). Go to any Northern Railway offices in New Delhi. You will find so many JEs and SSEs sitting in a chair like a clerk in normal offices.
