  • SSE S&T is a supervisor in signal and telecommunication department of Railways.
  • SSE can be posted either station or Production Units.
  • If posted in a station he will be in charge of the signalling installations of the station or stations.
  • He will have technicians under him to actually do the job.
  • Normally he will have a few small stations of a section under him, which means he has to travel to these stations.
  • Career path :
    Assistant Signal and Telecommunication Engineer(Gaz.) ->
    Divisional Signal and Telecommunication Engineer ->
    Senor Divisional Signal and Telecommunication Engineer.
  • Qualification :
    Degree in Electrical /Electronics /Telecommunication Engineering.
  • Selection Process : Written Examination and Document Verification.

  • Other Allowances depend on various conditions and hence cant be stated uniformly. Other major allowances include :

  • Deductions from salary include 10% of total Pay towards New Pension scheme.

Hello Sir,

I have applied for ASM on Compensate Ground. My father was working in Matunga Workshop. Welfare section dept of Matunga Workshop have forwarded the file to DRM Office. After all the procedure like Medical Examination & Apptitude Test have been conducted by them and as well as cleared by me. But now they have returned my file back to Matunga due to non availability of ASM post.

I would also like to inform you that they have given the same post to their candidate those who comes under them. And reason for returning the file is "Matunga Workshop does'nt belongs to them".

Please help me with your valuable suggestion.

Job nature will be a little different in Workshop. You will have Shift duty in Workshop.

But, I really want to join as an Assistant Station Master. Could you please help me what should i do, because all the procedure have been completed and at the end moment they have returned my file by saying that there are no vacancy. But they have appointed one candidate who was there with me.

Group A posts are Officers

Group A posts are Officers directly recruited through UPSC exams like Civil Services exam, Medical Services exam, Engineering Services exam.

Group B officers are promotee officers. When they put in some 15- 20 years in Group B they are inducted into Group A.

While a Group A officer start at GP is 5400 and have time bound promotions, Group B officer starting GP is 4800  and no time bound promotions.

2. Where the training of ALP will be given in for Ajmer recruitment board.?

1. After DV file will be sent by RRB to Chief Personnel Officer(CPO) of the Zone/Workshop concerned and CPO will allot Divisions.

2. Training will in different locations for depending on Zone/Division alloted. Technical training, General Rules training and on job training with Loco Pilots.

3. Time taken will depend on various factors. Normally 12-24 months.

Dear sir,

 My service particulars are as follows:

  1. Initial date of appointment as a SUBSTITUTE on 01.09.1987 at TRS Dept HWH
  2. Thereafter joined as Appr.Mech.(Elect) on 10.09.1990 with service continuation through R.R.B. Kolkata.(DPO / HWH'S OFFICE ORDER NO- E/3/Tr. ELC HWH dt. 7th Sept / 90)
  3. Promoted as SSE on 14.02.2006 still continuing

Now my question is that when will i get my MACP? I wish to  inform you that other 3 candidates those who joined with me under the same office order they are getting their MACP from July 2012 but my name is not considered in the MACP list but when i wished to know when  will i get my MACP the authority told that  i got a promotion from substitute to Appr.Mech.(elect).

Now again my question is that i directly entered as Appr.Mech through RRB Kolkata  and i think  that there is no contribution of railway authority  then why will i not get my MACP with others?

I will be highly obliged if you kindly inform me about my actual situation.

As of now Railway Board has not issued clear orders on this matter. As such there is no way for granting MACP in cases of those working staff who got recruited to higher posts through RRB.

hello sir,

i am about to join as  SE(P.WAY) through RRB chennai.completed medical and everything related to.My querries are  

1.whether  the new recruits are directly sent for training or will they be sent to any division first and after some time they(division authorities)  sent recruits  from their respective divisions to training college?

2.How long will be the training for SE p.way ? will it be completely  oriented in the training college itself?whether the training for SE pway and JE pway are combined?

2.is there any examination after the training program ?whats its nature and whether it is considered for promotion llist and seniority

I was short listed for je p-way doc verification on 14-feb, as getting job in railways is my childhood dream.but lot of people r telling there is lot of harrasment for je. All r creating negative talk for je. Bt i'm not convincing:is it really so.
I think this post is a challenging task but not harrasing?
Am i right?

You will have workload and work related pressure. But harassment I dont think. After all if you do your work sincerely nobody is going to bother you.
