Job profile of SSE (Mechanical)

  • SSE Mechanical is a supervisor in Mechanical department of Railways. SSE can be posted either station or Production Units/Workshops.
  • In stations he is known as Chief Train Examiner.
  • He will be in charge of maintenance of trains. It is his duty to see that Goods wagons and passenger coaches are in good fettle and ready in time for train service as required by the operating personnel.
  • He will have railway technicians under him to actually do the job. Normally he will be in charge of a fairly large maintenance yard-Goods or Passenger.
  • Workshop : In warkshops he will be in charge of periodic overhauling/ production components of loco/wagon/coaches. He will have to see that schedules are adhere to.

    Degree in Mechanical Engineering. from a recognized university/institution.
  • Selection Process : Written Examination, Document Verification and Medical test.

  • Other Allowances depend on various conditions and hence cant be stated uniformly. Other major allowances include :

SE will have 1 year job training. It includes training in training centres and open line training at stations. After document verification you will be called for Mediocal exam.

sir if any section engg is not giving any of exams then what is the possibility to get promoted in group B....... normally how many years it will takes to

i am doing m.tech from IIT guwahati , currently in 2nd year . i got the call letter for document verification for the post of Section Engineer should i join it. Will there be advantage of my m.tech for promotions . and what will be my career growth i.e promotions and all. what is the salary .

SIR,     1) state govt group B asst enggr post, pay scale 20000 basic,da 63%,GROSS AROUND 35K no promotion ,only time bounded increments AFTR 8,16,26 YRS..

            2) railway SSE rwf mech design and drawing

            which post is better?

           also i would like to know abt the career path of sse mech design,rwf banglore.......

          3)how much time it will take to get promoted to group A post...suppose i will clear LDCE exam aftr 5 yr in the first attempt(what is the minimum period required to get promoted to group A post?)?

Any idea about the work profile of sse design and drawing mechanical at rwf Banglr...one railway employee from rwf told me design job s easy compared to other mechanical sse job..is it so,also it s easy to get leave compared to other mech sse,also he told Saturday s always a holiday for sse design Mechanical...is it so?

I am pursuing BE(Mechanical) from Mumbai University nd i m currently in second year, i want to ask the jobs i can get in railway, nd when i have to give the exams in last year or after completing BE. Is UPSC exam compulsory to get a job in railway?

sir.my father expired on 2010.so my mother is getting pension. at that time office clerk told me that if I pay the last salary of my father then I get indoor and outdoor medical facility. I regret it but they didn't told me about medical allowance of rs.300.per month if I deposit the basic of salary. now I want to join this scheme of RELHS.so sir I just want to know that should my mother can get medical allowance after 5 years.how much have to pay to get this allowance. I just want the outdoor facility and want to get medical allowance.plz send me the process and circular by which I easily apply for this facility

Hello sir
I'm initially appointed in group d in TVC divn and I selected for Alp through GDCE and posted at ernakulam TVC divn itself. Seniors from PGT AND SALEM divn gone for (CAT) case against our batch posting @ TVC DIVN. We are also entered case and the honourable CAT Ordered to post me and the other one alp in mas divn through one way request and also ordered to complete the entire exercise with in the period of two months. But due to administrative problems we are relieved after 6 months mean while a new batch of 180 alps posted @mas divn.

Sir I want to know my seniority is below the new batch or we may at top the new batch.
