Lumpsum awards for Railway Staff on acquiring higher qualification

  • The acquisition of certain qualifications will entitle Railway staff to be eligible for lumpsum incentives as shown in the following table.
  • Officers and staff  in Group "A"B", &  "C" will be eligible for these awards with the condition that he/she should remain in service for at least three years after acquiring higher qualifications.
  • Incentive should be allowed only for the qualifications, the acquisition of which is directly related to the functions of the post held by the Railway servant or the functions to be performed in the next higher post and the qualifications should contribute to the efficiency of the Railway servant.
  • Revised scheme of incentives will be effective 17.4.2000.
  • No incentive would be allowed for purely academic or literary studies.
  • The incentive will not be available for the qualifications which are laid down as essential or desirable qualifications in the recruitment rules for the post.
  • The incentive will not be admissible where the Government servant is sponsored by the government or he avails of study leave for acquiring the qualification.
  • The incentive would be given only for higher qualification acquired after induction into service.
  • The qualifications should be recognized by the all India Council for Technical Education, Department of Electronics, Deemed University or recognized  by the Government.
  • Officials acquiring more than one prescribed qualification will be entitled for incentives for all such additional qualifications.
  • DRMs/CWMs  can sanction these incentives in respect of Group "C" staff working in the  Divisions/Workshops  in consultation with  Sr.DAOs/Workshop Accounts officers while HODs in consultation with FA&CAOs will sanction incentive to Group "C"  staff working in the Headquarters offices.

Hi

I work as a reservations clerk joined 2 yrs back. Now i wish to sharp my brain as it has already started draining and wish to pursue some academic course such as llb, or management etc etc.

if some one can help me choose among them and advice what available options do we have post grad. and what is the scope in railways for them.

Does railway give time or help for pursuing these courses?

I syam app je c&w. I completed my diploma and b.tech in electronics and communication engineering before joining the post. The eligibility of the post is diploma. I have the qualification b.tech. Shall I eligible for any Lumpsum
incentive or any other benifits? Plz send me reply. If eligible how to claim this?

Hi sir,
I have joined as CDMS in June 2013.
Before joining in Railways in 2012, I have registered for two courses.
1.Diploma in public procurement & materials management - offered by IRILMM
2. Diploma in Rail transport management - offered by IRT.

My query is since the results of the above two courses have come after the june 2013, am I eligible for Incentive amount ?
