Waiver of Security Deposit, Fare & Empty haulage charge for booking of special coaches for holiday camps organized by the Railway Administration under the Staff Benefit Fund and for tours of serving and retired Railway employees

Sub: Waiver of Security Deposit, Fare, Empty haulage charge etc for booking of special coaches for holiday camps organized by the Railway Administration under the Staff Benefit Fund and for tours of serving and retired Railway employees traveling on passes and PTOs.

The issue regarding exemption from payment of security deposit, fare, empty haulage charges etc for booking of special coaches for holiday camps organized by the Railway Administration under the Staff Benefit Fund and for tour of serving and retired Railway employees traveling on passes and PTOs has been examined in Board’s office.

1. It has been decided that for booking of special coaches for holiday camps organized by the Railway Administration under the Staff Benefit Fund.

(i) No security deposit shall be levied
(ii) No. Fare, Service Charge, Development Charge, Super fast Charge and detention charges will be levied.
(iii) No empty haulage charge will be levied.

2. However, Empty haulage charges shall be leviable in case of booking of special coaches by retired & serving Railway in Employees and their families who make programme outside the Staff Benefit Fund Committee as per instructions issued vide Board’s letter No. TCII/2033/2006/Policy dated 16.02.2007 (commercial Circular No. 18 to 2007).

3. Security Deposit @ Rs. 15,000/- per coach will be levied.

4. Other instructions issued from time to time regarding grant of facilities for booking of special coaches by serving and retired Railway Employees travelling on educational/pilgrimage/excursion tour on pass/PTO will remain valid.

5. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.

6. Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned immediately.

This instructions will take effect from 16.8.2011.
