Recruitment to posts in Pay Band-l GP Rs.1800 on Indian Railways.

1.In pursuance to instructions contained in Board's letter of even number dated 9.12.2010 enhancing the prescribed qualification for recruitment of staff from open market in Pay Band-l of Rs. 5200-20200 (Grade Pay: ~18(0) from 8th pass to 10th pass or ITI or equivalent, it has been decided by the Board that para 7.2 of Annexure-I to Board's letter No. E(NG)I1/96/RR-l/62 dated 18.7.2005 will henceforth be read as under:-
7.2 Question paper for the Written Test shall be based on 10th class standard consisting of 150 multiple (four) objective type questions aimed to assess general knowledge/awareness, mathematics and reasoning etc. No question shall be asked for checking proficiency in language. Question paper should be entirely objective and shall be printed in Hindi, English, Urdu and regional language (s). The duration of the Written Test shall be 2 (two) hours.
2. It has further been decided that procedure applied in open market recruitment exercises conducted successfully recently be adopted in the forthcoming exercise also for open market recruitment to posts in PB-l (Grade Pay: ~ 1800). General Managers are to ensure that Railway Recruitment Cells are strengthened sufficiently by providing accommodation, equipment, vehicles, security, manpower etc. Also, adequate check and balances be ensured for smooth conduct of recruitment exercise without any problem.
