In supersession of Board’s letters of even no. dated 31.05.2002 (Sl. No. 115) and 23.08.2002 (Sl. No. 120) Entitlement for travel by Jan Shatabdi Express Trains will be as under:
(i) First Class/ Ist ‘A’ Pass holders:
(a) Entitlement of travel in the Chair Car shall be the same as available in Shatabdi Express Trains.
(b) An eligible attendant shall be allowed in the second class.
(c) Number of seats available in second class shall be the same as available in other mail/express trains.
(d) Widows/senior citizens who are 65 years and above shall be allowed to take a companion/attendant, as the case may be in 2nd class subject to prescribed extant conditions.
(ii) Second class pass holders:
(a) Number of seats available in 2nd class shall be the same as available in other mail/express trains.
PTOs shall be allowed for travel in Jan Shatabdi Express Trains as in other Shatabdi Express Trains.
This issues with the concurrence of Finance and Commercial Directorates of Ministry of Railways.
