Entitlement for travel alone in First AC coupe in respect of Gold Pass holders in trains other than Rajdhani Express

Instructions  were issued vide Board’s letter No. E[W]93 PS 5-1/1 dated 16.02.2004 providing that Gold Pass holders traveling on duty by Rajdhani Express trains are entitled for I-AC coupe accommodation even when they travel alone and they can also take their family members in the coupe [ 2 berths].  It has been decided by Board that similar facility may also be extended to Gold Pass holders in trains other than Rajdhani /Shatabdi trains.  It has therefore been decided to amend the first item in respect of Gold Pass holders under Column 3 “conditions of entitlement” in Schedule I – Duty Pass of Railway Servants [Pass] Rules, 1986 [Second Edition, 1993] as per Advance Correction Slip No. 59.

 

2.         This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.

Advance Correction Slip No. 59 to the Railway Servants [Pass] Rules, 1986 [Second Edition, 1993]

 

            The first item in respect of Gold Pass holders under Column 3 – “Conditions of entitlement” in Schedule I – Duty Pass of Railway Servants [Pass] Rules, 1986 [Second Edition, 1993] may be amended as under:

 

            Gold Pass holder while traveling with members of his family is entitled to travel in any class over Indian Railways.

 

Note:-  While traveling with family the holder of a Gold Pass may have:

 

[a]        not more than two berths in First AC Class and two berths in AC Sleeper / First Class      or

[b]        not more than four berths in A.C. Sleeper / First Class   or

[c]        First AC coupe [ 2 berths] even when traveling alone and can also take their family members in the coupe.

            Permitted to carry a dog in case First AC /First Class coupe is allotted exclusively.
