In view of the clarification sought by Zonal Railways regarding contribution for joining Retired Employees Liberalized Health Scheme [RELHS-97] for retired railway employees joining the scheme after 28-1-05, it has been decided by Board that the contribution shall be calculated as under:

Pre-96 retirees / Spouses of deceased employees:

i] Those who retired prior to 1-1-96 and will become member now
|
A sum equivalent to double the amount of revised basic pension after implementation of the V CPC recommendations. |
|
ii] Family pensioners |
A sum equivalent to double the amount of their revised normal family pension after implementation of the V CPC recommendations. |
|
Iii] SRPF Optees |
A sum twice the amount of ex-gratia monthly payment sanctioned on the basis of recommendation of V CPC |

Post-96 retirees / Spouses of deceased employees:

i] Employees who retired after 1-1-96 but prior to 01-04-04

Revised last pay drawn of the employee [ after implementation of V CPC scales] |

ii]Family pensioner/ spouses of the deceased Railway employees expired after 1-1-96 but prior to 01-04-04 |

Members of RELHS who joined the scheme after 28-01-05 and have contributed more than the requisite amount are entitled to claim reimbursement of the amount paid in excess or vice-versa.
This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
