Final Withdrawal from Provident Fund is permitted only for Railway employees with 15 years service including broken periods.
On medical Grounds

Railway staff who is not eligible for final withdrawal can opt for temporary withdrawal from PF.

No advance shall not be granted until at least 50% of last advance has been repaid.

Amount of advance shall be such that after making all recoveries net amount payable is not less than 50% of Basic pay of the Railway staff concerned.

For Running staff Basic Pay + 30% will be taken for calculating the advance.

Permitted on following occasions:
On medical Grounds

For Railway employees who are posted on or after 01.01.2004 Provident Fund rules are not applicable.

Railway employee contributes 8.5% of Pay + GP to State Railway Provident Fund Account.

The account is maintained by Accounts Department. Each PF account is allotted a specific number.

Voluntary Contribution to PF (VPF) can be made from the salary of a Railway staff subject to the maximum limit that the amount should not be more than the amount remaining after recoveries.

Railway Employees who retired under Railway Services(Extraordinary Pension) Rules 1993 for 100% disability where the person is completely dependent on somebody else for day-to-day functions.

Rs. 3000/- per month in addition to Disability pension shall be paid.
-
Paid only if disability is attributable to or aggravated by service.

Not payable for any period during which pensioner is an inmate or in-patient of a government institution or hospital.

Women with disabilities shall be paid Rs. 1000/- per month as Special Allowance for Child care from the time of birth till child is two years only.

Payable for a maximum 2 years only.

Disability as defined in Ministry of Welfare notification – minimum 40 % disability – only eligible.

This allowance will be raised by 25% as DA goes up by 50%.

Upto 10 days of LAP can be encashed at the time of availing Pass/PTO subject to the following conditions.

Balance of at least 30 LAP should be available at the credit of the Railway employee after taking into account the LAP encashed and LAP taken for this purpose.

Total LAP encashed during the total career of a Railway Employee should not exceed 60 days.

Successive encashments cannot be made before a minimum period of 2 years has elapsed.
Retirement (w.e.f 1.1.2006)

Granted to a female Railway employee becoming an adoptive mother with less than 2 surviving children.

Granted for 180 days on adoption of a child upto one year of age on the lines of Maternity Leave admissible.

Leave salary equal to pay drawn just before proceeding on leave.

Maybe combined with any other type of leave as in Maternity Leave.

Granted to male Railway employees (including Apprentices) with less than 2 surviving children.

Granted for 15 days.

During the period of confinement of wife of a Railway employee . Can be availed in the period between 15 days prior and 6 months after the date delivery of the child.

Can availed only in one spell.

If not availed it will be lapsed.
-
It is not to be debited against leave account.
-
Maybe combined with any other type of leave as in Maternity Leave.
